Hello, Hello!

Speaking of insanity, this week is the definition of all things crazy and back-ass-wards.
Other than that, not so bad.

I'm full time at the paper this week, because one of the other ladies needed some time off. That means if the paper doesn't come out on time, my bad.
I was working on the 'dummy' today (the mock-up layout for all the ads) and usually it's not too bad, pretty cut and dry.
But, the only week I have to do it, it's one big mess. They keep selling late ads, which means a bunch of redoing and rearranging. It's like a big jigsaw puzzle where people keep adding pieces and saying "It's okay they will fit." Thankfully, with a little help from my boss, I got it done just in time to make it to coaching.

Coaching is wonderful as always. Planning for year end carnivals for both Airdrie and Crossfield (I coach at both clubs) is in the works already. Things are really moving along there.
There is a competition in Edmonton soon for one of my skater's, I'm really looking forward to that.

Pretty excited for tomorrow, even though I'm busy from 6:30 am until 9:30 pm (totally full plate). I have hooping tomorrow night, and since there was no class last week because of Halloween, I'm super ready to get moving again.

This year for Halloween, since Jason was working (he did nights last week) I dressed up as gypsy and went for a drink at Smitty's lounge. It was pretty fun, lots of people and I won second prize for best dressed! Yay for new headphones.
And when I say dressed up as a gypsy, I went all out, using things I found in my closet. I have a very... eclectic closet.
It was a good Halloween as always.

The past weekend was nuts at work. I don't know what happened, but I think when the clocks went back an hour, everyone's internal clock was still the same. The rush happened an hour earlier than normal, and ho boy, did that throw us off, since we weren't quite fully staffed yet.

I would have liked to sit down and have a chat with my Grandpa, and Grandma, and Mom and Dad, but I truly did not have a second to even sip my coffee (sacrilege I know).

It's okay though because I'm taking this weekend off (again). I'm basically working every second weekend lately. But when I'm working extra hours at the paper, plus coaching, I'm going to wear myself too thin if I don't have a day off here and there.
Look, I'm learning to say no. You should be proud.

Anyway, I'm ready for bed since I have to be up at an ungodly hour.

All Hallow's Eve!

Welcome to my favourite holiday!
It's not technically a holiday but I'm okay with that, since my other fave is St. Patrick's Day and also not a real holiday.

Now that you know this, you'd think I would know what or who I'm being for Halloween, but I don't.
I've had many costumes over the years, the Sun, Cruela DeVille, a witch (many times over), catwoman,  and many others. But I have no idea.

Also I have no clue whether to do a couples costume or just random it up. Seeing as how I am in charge of both costumes though, I will probably do something couple-y.

I did think about dressing up as a Banana though... but that was just a passing thought.

There's snow all over the place at the moment. I enjoyed brushing my car off twice today.

I'm not very troubled by snow, you just have to dress for it and drive slower and neither of those are challenging. I dress in layers almost year round anyway so this is nothing new to me, I am cold, that is how I live.

Also Jack loves to play in the snow, and I do enjoy kicking it at him because on a leash he can't escape.
(Evil of me isn't it?)

Speaking of Evil and Jack (who's currently panting in my face), he tried to run away this morning.

To start off, he is a smart dog. He knows that when my arms are full, I will not be able to slip out the door fast enough, or stop him.

So there I was this morning, fully loaded with lunch bag, purse, coaching binder and necessities, hula hoop over one shoulder and coffee in the other hand.

Not to miss an opportunity, Jack easily sneaks past and into the snowy wonderland. He may be curious, but an adventurer he is not. He made it ten feet, had a pee, and sat down.

Last time he did this, I simply opened the car door and said car ride, then he jumped in and was trapped. Round two.

Opened the car door, Jackman went two steps, thought about it and sat back down. Apparently he has a pretty good memory.

Thankfully the dog next door barked, now distracted Jack runs back up to the house (where I'm standing) realizes what he's done and lays down and cowers, knowing I'm not impressed.

And with that, Jack is shoved in the house and I went to work. He is smart, not yet wise.

So the light at the end of the tunnel this week is a weekend off. Yay me!
It feels slightly selfish, but I took it off just because I am darn tired of working.
So I will be able to fully enjoy a Halloween party Saturday (I think it's Saturday, I should check) and a Snow Patrol concert on Sunday. I'm a quite looking forward to it.

Brrr!

It's a little bit chilly out there.
Good thing I'm staying home all day! Until I go coaching of course.

So I have been attempting to write, but they just keep turning into drafts instead of posts.

Coaching is in full swing right now, and by full swing, I mean I woke up yesterday already thinking about coaching. I may need a vacation.

On the ice five nights a week (and one morning). If anyone wants to donate for a new pair of snowpants that would be great, because after crawling around with the little ones, mine are taking some wear n' tear. Mostly tear at this point.

But I must confess, coaching is awesome, because of the awesome smiles, high fives and drawing on the ice.

Colourful and Wonderful.

Not much in other news. Reading through my favourite book series again, Outlander. Apparently there's a new book coming out next year so I'm rereading all seven books before that so I can just dive right in. Quite stoked, these books are a perfect escape. 

Jason and I went and saw 'Here comes the Boom' Tuesday night, and it was pretty darn funny, I recommend it for sure.

The Mischievous Dog

A story in pictures. 

To the left, you will find a half eaten shoe.

And now to your right, you will find, that beside the shoe, is what's left of a roll of tape.
Now how accessible was the shoe? Easy, that one is not entirely Jack's fault.
But the tape! That was in an open pencil case, on the Kitchen table.
Which can only mean, that Jack climbed up on to the chair, pulled the tape out of the pencil case, and proceeded to make a mess.

Not only does he chew the tape to bits (it was in a holder) he manages to get tape stuck to his stuffed animal as well.

The other shoe, one pencil, one green highlighter, and two bottles of nail polish (with one screw on top fully punctured). And possible other things that I have not found yet.

And so ends the 'tail' of Jackman's day of mischief.

I say that it's too early to get into anything to deep. Also I should start getting ready for work soon. I always keep hoping that if I put it off, I won't have to go (it never works, in case you're wondering).

New things in my life... something interesting...
I have been working a lot. But that's not news, that's just what I do. I had a Saturday off to myself a few weeks ago (I know right?) and by 9:30 a.m. I was so bored I went to Wal Mart to pick up socks and other necessities.

Today I am being a nutball and working 9-5 at the paper and 5-close at Smitty's. Don't ask me how it's going to work, I will figure that out when the time comes.

Lot's of coaching stuff going on right now, I've got some good numbers registered for the Beiseker program so I'm quite excited. And I have some actual help this year (still looking for more) so YAY!

There may not be any pictures for awhile, Jack ate my SD card. I left it on the table, which was a bad idea I guess. Apparently things left on the kitchen table are up for grabs as far as Jack is concerned. Not impressed.

Alright, it's time for me to go get ready for the day. Get dressed, get my lunch ready, drink more coffee and such on.

A most wonderful few weeks I've had.

A nice date night with the hubby, we went to Applebee's and then went and saw The Campaign, which was quite funny. Definitely a good laugh it out and feel better after movie. And Applebee's had a salad with BACON dressing. More people need to know about this, bacon is top ten in my favourite things.

Lots of chill time with the ladies, wine included of course. There may have been a wine incident, where  my beige shorts were spilled on, but the good news is I'm awesome at laundry and have removed the stain! Now I don't have to be mad at Ava anymore for knocking her glass over and breaking it on me.

Last night consisted of fun times with Kiersty at Jer & Melissa's house. If you look to the title of this post it should give you some insight into how 'blonde' my sister was yesterday. Actual quote, I swear.

So after a special day at work (too much hanging out with Kiersty wears off on a person), and a few hours cleaning my house, I am too tired to write a lot more. My house looks great though. Be jealous.

Muffins!

Yes muffins. Not from scratch but mighty delicious all the same.

When I moved out of my parents house, my muffin intake decreased to barely three or four muffins a year. And I'm not sure if Momma still does, but she used to bake muffin's all the time, I'm sure it was because they were easy to make and one of the few things all four of us would eat.

Also in the news today (mine, not the worlds), I biked to the grocery store this morning. It's not very far, but it was windy, and the bike I have is Grandma's old one. It has no gears and just back brakes. But it has a cute basket and old school handle bars so I'm a fan.

One month I actually rode my bike and didn't touch my car at all. It's a good work out, good for the environment, and it doesn't take much longer to bike across Airdrie, then to drive across it.

I might try something similar again, starting in August. I won't totally go without my car, because sometimes, biking in Alberta is crazy, but maybe 75% bike, 25% car. We'll see how it goes.

I would like to be able to bike with Jack beside me, but I think I'm going to wait a few more months to even walk with him hooked to a bike. He's smart at times but I do not see him and a bike being friends right now, too sketchy.

I'm very envious of all my family out camping up at Crimson Lake right now. How dare you.

Lucky me though, I get one whole weekend of camping up at Mt. Kidd this year, so woohoo! :)

Can't wait for it, since it will be at the end of a three ish week stint of straight work. Not complaining though, it's my choice. It will by Mon- Fri. at the paper (other people are taking holidays) and weekends serving up eggs and bacon.

I'm actually quite excited to be working full-time at the paper for a bit. I'm still learning lots there, and doing a bunch of production stuff. A lot of little things to try and remember, but that's true with most jobs I'm sure.

And to answer everyone's most frequently asked question: 'How's married life?'
It's the same as life was before, still pretty good. Jason and I were prepared for this. :)
