"The world is spinning way too fast.." (The Spill Canvas)

Prada Fall 2011

It really makes me want to get on that airplane. Preferably one with an open cockpit to test out that cap.
It seems very Mod Uniform to me. Huge plaid prints, but everything is very institutional, very military or scholarly but adapted to that sixties look.
I do very much enjoy the colourful buttons to, especially the way they stand out.

Asos S/S

I like all the floaty clothes they really make me feel all dreamy and pretty but I just can't do the funky pants.
I like jeans. Always have, always will.
I'm definitely a fan of the bare midriff coming back though. Enough of that low-rise, hip-bone stuff, give me high-waists, peeking navels, and a sliver of skin. Beautiful.

On other notes, I have fake nails for basically the first time in my life. They are blue-tipped and pretty. But I'm finding out just how anti-functional they may be. I still enjoy them though. One less thing I have to worry about maintaining on a daily basis since I can't seem to keep my real nails from breaking lately.
I blame the bipolar weather patterns that have 30 degree changes in 24 hrs. I could do without that.

Stay cozy everyone!

Betsey Johnson Fall 2011

'He loves me not'
Dark and gothic and romantic. Something along the lines of little red riding hood was raised in a brothel and then sent to an all girls private school. Very seductive.

'He loves me'
COLOURS!!!! PRINTS!!!
This is more of a beetlejuice's daughter after prom night made into a barbie.

It was a fantastic show, more of a party than anything and totally enthralling. I adored the neck corsets (chokers) used in 'He loves me not', and the way they separated the show with black wigs and blonde wigs.
Also I'm giving props out to Betsey for using her own staff, 50 women and men (well one man, he was a rebellious one!) walked the runway in the blonde wigs looking great and flaunting it. No models all real. I adore it. I adore the entire show actually.

DKNY Feb 14 2011 Show

This is my take on the runway show:
The DKNY show was absolute elegance. It gave the feeling of a classy business girl.
It was shades of grey, with light-weight and sheer fabrics in beige, silver, and other wintery colours.
The skirts were all a-line, knee length and heavily structured, while the tops were graceful, flowing, with drooping necklines created by draping and ruffles. Arms were fuller through the top and tight or in long gloves through the wrist. Fur was a common addition, either as a collar or lifted cuff. What sparkle was there, was done sparingly and beautifully. Waists were dropped a little from previous seasons but still cinched with a thin belt (no buttons here), and trenches were graced with wider collars.
Necklines saw bare backs, showcasing shoulders and dipping delicately (almost to the waist at times) in the front.
Details seemed to be done using only the draping of the fabric (simple, yet amazing).
The long dresses were stunning and angelic.
Well done DKNY!!

New York Fashion Week

I'm not sure if this is well known, but it should be. It's NY Fashion Week, once again.

It's all about the shows right now. I'm excited for DKNY's show (live feed from NY @ 2pm est this afternoon.)
When it's all wrapped up I'll let you know what I think.
In the mean time Derek Lam is hearing high praises for his collection (AW11) that showcased at Lincoln Center yesterday.
